The Popcorn Trick is FANTASTIC

This is The Popcorn Trick.

I think the Walsh Brothers are awesome and have seen them many times. This, somehow, captures what they do perfectly (which is interesting, because they tell such hilarious stories, and this is not that). Plus, EDITH PIAF!!!

Jon Stewart on Socialism

Last night (5/29/12), Mr. Stewart was in fine form, addressing the socialism question. See http://www.thedailyshow.com/full-episodes/tue-may-29-2012-michelle-obama. He didn't even bother with the fact that the ACA (aka ObamaCare), the crown jewel of BHO socialism, used to be to the right of Hillary, Ted K, and even Nixon proposed for national healthcare plans.

The Michelle Obama segment was good, too.

Kyle Kinane: Death of the Party

This is a very funny album. And it's smart.

The stuff on here about Trader Joe's is my very favorite. When I first heard it, I felt obliged to tell Trader Joe's employees about it on my next visit. In this material, Kyle is especially good at painting a picture with his words that is extremely memorable. I won't quote any of it here so you can hear it and experience it for yourself.

There's also some very funny stuff about insomnia. I will never think about volcanoes in the same way now.

Comedy Studio's show tonight

Saw a bunch of funny people tonight, with the usual props to Rick Jenkins for his ongoing support of the worldwide comedy community. Most people have never heard of him, but we're all laughing more because of his place, The Comedy Studio. Particularly amusing this evening were:

on seeing Gary Gulman live

It was at Nick's. This is really belated, as it was Christmas night. Yes, he did two shows, one on Christmas eve and one on Christmas night. Not surprisingly, there was a lot of material about being Jewish. And he was really, really funny.

Admittedly, it's a small target audience when you're telling jokes aimed mostly at Boston-area Jews, especially from the North Shore, but he hit the bullseye. Not being from the North Shore, I was not fully in on all of it, but that was just fine. I haven't laughed that hard in quite a while.

His site.
